Modern 4m2 Bathroom with a Walk-In Shower

When designing small bathrooms, every centimeter counts. In this 4m2 space, we combined light beige tiles, elegant black accents and warm wooden details that bring lightness and a modern character to the interior. Our goal was to create a functional, harmonious and timeless bathroom which, despite its limited size, remains comfortable for everyday use and visually clean and organized.

This project required precise work on built-in elements, the selection of optimal sanitary solutions and careful arrangement of zones. Thanks to this, we managed to fit a walk-in shower, a full toilet zone, a comfortable countertop with a vessel sink, and a stacked washing machine and dryer — without overwhelming the space.

Room Analysis – 2x2 m Layout

The bathroom has a perfectly square 2x2 m layout, which required precise planning to maintain user comfort. The arrangement of each zone is based on ergonomics and efficient use of space:

• the walk-in shower occupies the entire width of the wall on the right,
• the wall-hung toilet with the geberit system is placed centrally by the entrance,
• the stacked washing machine and dryer are located opposite the entrance,
• the wash area with a fluted vanity and inverted semi-oval mirror balances and brightens the room.

This layout ensures maximum optimization — nothing overlaps, each zone is naturally separated, and the interior remains clear and elegant.

Detailed Element Description and Material Highlights

1. Wash Area – Fluted Fronts and Inverted Semi-Oval Mirror

The most distinctive element of this bathroom is the inverted semi-oval mirror with subtle LED backlighting. Its vertical proportions visually heighten the space and add lightness.

Below the mirror, we designed a vanity unit with vertical fluted fronts made from matte lacquered MDF — a detail that brings elegance and a modern touch. The fluting gently reflects the light, creating a sense of depth.

2. Shower Zone – Walk-In Shower with Black Profiles

The walk-in shower is framed with minimalist black profiles that harmonize with the remaining black accents. Inside, we placed a ceiling-mounted rainfall shower and a concealed mixer.

We also added a practical shelf for cosmetics in the same color scheme.

3. Toilet Zone – Geberit Wall with Illuminated Open Shelves

The toilet wall brings warmth and elegance. The geberit system is enclosed in a light beige built-in structure, next to which we designed three open niches with soft LED backlighting.

Above the built-in unit, we created a fluted matte lacquered MDF cabinet matching the vanity design. Its vertical lines bring harmony and visual consistency to the space.

4. Washing Machine and Dryer – Functionality Without Full Cabinetry

In this bathroom, we opted for a stacked washing machine and dryer without surrounding cabinetry to avoid overloading the visual space.

The white appliances blend seamlessly with the light tiles, while the linear LED lighting above enhances the modern look.

“In this bathroom, the key was to balance functionality with visual harmony. The 2x2 m layout offers limited possibilities, but with a thoughtful geberit built-in, fluted fronts and vertical accents, we achieved a sense of space larger than the actual dimensions. The inverted semi-oval mirror not only adds style — it visually extends the wall, improving the proportions of the room. Choosing not to enclose the washer and dryer was intentional — the interior breathes, feels lighter and remains visually uncluttered.”
