How to design a 19m2 bedroom in a single-family house? A ready-made design and inspirations

A 19m2 bedroom offers great design potential, but it can just as easily become overcrowded with unnecessary elements. In our latest project, we focused on an interior that combines functionality with a warm, modern aesthetic—creating a space that supports rest and everyday rituals.

This is a bedroom where every detail has been carefully considered: from wall finishes to lighting and furniture layout.

A cohesive concept: natural tones, light, and modern elegance

The project was designed with calm and balance in mind. We chose a palette of beiges, graphite greys, and browns, complemented by natural light softly filtered through layered curtains. We also introduced varied LED lighting—including vertical accent lights and backlighting for the TV unit—which adds warmth and coziness in the evenings.

This is one of those bedrooms that looks beautiful both at dawn and after dark.

The wall behind the bed: concrete, textile wallpaper, and mood-building light

The wall behind the bed became the key compositional element of this interior.

We combined two distinctive materials here:

✔ Textile wallpaper

– adds warmth, elegance, and softness to the space, – creates a perfect backdrop for fabrics and wooden elements.

✔ Architectural concrete panels

– introduce a modern contrast to the cozy color palette, – paired with vertical LED strips, they create depth and rhythm.

This combination makes the area behind the bed modern yet pleasant to the eye. It does not dominate—it supports the overall atmosphere of the interior.

The central feature: a comfortable bed with a soft headboard

A 19m2 bedroom easily accommodates a wide continental bed with a soft upholstered headboard. We placed it centrally to maintain symmetry in relation to the windows and lighting.

On both sides, we added floating bedside tables—visually light yet highly practical.

A vanity with a backlit mirror – a feminine touch in a modern bedroom

On the right side of the room, we designed a vanity area, which is one of the key elements of this arrangement.

It features:

  • a large LED-backlit mirror,
  • a comfortable upholstered chair,
  • a countertop in a natural wood tone,
  • subtle accessories and space for cosmetics.

The vanity serves a dual purpose: it is both a practical makeup zone and a decorative feature that softens the minimalist character of the design.

TV zone and greenery – the heart of evening relaxation

Opposite the bed, we placed a TV wall unit made of:

  • warm-toned wood,
  • black slatted panels,
  • architectural concrete elements.

The entire unit is enhanced with LED backlighting. The lower part includes a spacious yet visually light RTV cabinet.

This is the perfect spot for evening movie sessions and relaxing in bed.

We introduced several large plants in elegant black planters. They bring life into the interior and emphasize the balance between raw elements (concrete, slats) and soft textiles.

Lighting – the key to atmosphere in the bedroom

In this 19m2 project, we used several layers of light:

  • LED strips in the built-ins and behind the curtains,
  • vertical wall lights on both sides of the bed,
  • vanity mirror lighting,
  • soft directional ceiling light.

This makes the bedroom flexible—perfect for reading, relaxing, and winding down in the evening.

FAQ – Frequently asked questions about designing a 19m2 bedroom

1. What is the best way to position the bed in a 19m2 bedroom?

The best solution is to place the bed centrally, on the wall opposite the window or the door. This maintains symmetry and provides comfortable access from both sides.

2. Is there room for a vanity in a 19m2 bedroom?

Yes—19m2 is a comfortable size that easily accommodates a vanity when properly planned. It works best along a side wall or next to the TV zone, as in this project.

3. Doesn’t concrete on the wall make the interior feel cold?

When combined with textile wallpaper, wood, and LED lighting, concrete does not feel cold at all. On the contrary—it enhances coziness through material contrast and adds character.

4. What colors work best in a modern bedroom?

Earthy tones work best: beiges, browns, greens, graphite, and off-white. They create a sense of calm and harmony.

5. What lighting should you choose for a bedroom?

It’s worth remembering three layers: main lighting, ambient lighting (LEDs, wall lamps), and task lighting for reading or makeup. This combination gives full control over the mood.

6. Are plants a good idea in the bedroom?

Yes—plants improve the microclimate, introduce nature, and soften the rawness of modern built-ins.

7. How can you hide a TV in an elegant bedroom?

A wall unit—like the one in this project—combining slats, concrete, and wood works perfectly. The TV becomes part of the composition rather than a dominant element.

8. What flooring works best in a bedroom?

Wooden floors or panels in natural tones are the most inviting. They warm up the space and pair beautifully with textiles.

9. How can you visually enlarge a bedroom?

– light fabrics, – sheer curtains, – vertical LED lines, – a large mirror at the vanity. Simple tricks with great impact.

10. Is textile wallpaper worth using in a bedroom?

Definitely—it improves acoustics, adds warmth, and creates a sense of luxury.

Summary

This 19m2 bedroom proves that even a larger space can be designed harmoniously without visual overload. The use of concrete, textile wallpaper, thoughtful lighting, and a dedicated vanity zone allowed us to create an interior that is elegant, practical, and perfect for regeneration.
