16m2 Hallway in Cashmere, Wood and Black – Elegant, Functional Interior Design
The hall is a space that is often treated as secondary, yet it is the very first interior that builds the impression of the entire home. In this project, we worked on the arrangement of a 16m2 hall, which was meant to be not only aesthetic, but above all functional and cohesive with the rest of the house. Our goal was to create an organized, bright and visually calm space – one that welcomes both residents and guests without chaos, while handling everyday use with ease.
The design is based on a combination of cashmere tones, natural wood and black accents, complemented by thoughtfully planned lighting and custom-built furniture. The result is an elegant, timeless interior design tailored to the real needs of the users.

- what the design process looks like from the Fabryka Projektów team perspective.
Room analysis – the starting point of the design
The designed hall has an area of 16m2 and serves as the main communication space of the house. It is a place that is used many times a day – connecting the living area, private zones and the main entrance. The key challenge was to plan the layout so the hall would not become just a “pass-through corridor”, but a space that truly supports everyday living.
At the analysis stage, we defined several main assumptions:
- a large amount of storage for outerwear and shoes,
- a comfortable seat for putting on footwear,
- maintaining visual lightness despite extensive built-in furniture,
- aesthetic consistency with the rest of the interior,
- lighting that not only illuminates, but also organizes the space.

Interior concept and key design elements
The entire project is based on simple, clear forms and consistently guided lines. We wanted the hall to feel elegant, but not “stiff” – modern, yet warm and inviting.
Custom-built furniture
The central element of the interior is custom-made furniture in a cashmere finish, designed all the way up to the ceiling. This allowed us to fully utilize the available space and avoid visual clutter. Smooth, handle-less fronts bring calm to the composition and emphasize its modern character.

Seating and entry zone
Near the entrance, we designed a comfortable seat with a wooden finish, integrated into the built-in furniture. This solution significantly increases everyday comfort – especially in a home where the hall is used intensively.
Slats and vertical elements
Black vertical slats play a dual role here: decorative and functional. They visually organize the space, introduce rhythm and emphasize the height of the interior, while also serving as a backdrop for hooks and lighting.

Functional zones in the 16m2 hall
Although it is a single space, the hall has been clearly divided into several zones:
- entry zone – with seating, hooks and space for quick storage of outerwear,
- storage zone – floor-to-ceiling built-in furniture for clothes, shoes and accessories,
- communication zone – wide, comfortable passageways leading to other parts of the house.
This division makes the interior clear and intuitive to use, even for a larger household.
Material details – consistency and durability
In this project, we focused on materials that are not only aesthetic, but also durable and easy to maintain:
- cashmere furniture fronts – elegant, neutral and timeless,
- natural wood – adds warmth and a homely feel,
- black accents – in the form of slats, lighting fixtures and details that organize the composition,
- wooden flooring consistently used throughout the hall.
Interior color palette – cashmere, wood and black
The color palette was selected in a conscious and calm way. Cashmere forms the base of the entire arrangement – soft, neutral and very pleasant in perception. Wood brings warmth and natural character, while black accents add definition and a modern edge.
This combination makes the hall bright but not cold, elegant yet still welcoming.

Design team commentary
When designing this hall, we knew from the beginning that balance would be crucial. On one hand – functionality and storage capacity, on the other – visual lightness. We wanted users to feel calm right from the entrance, with the space naturally guiding them further inside. Cashmere proved to be the perfect base, while black details added character without overpowering the interior.
