Room for a 10-Year-Old Boy – a Modern 17 m2 Bedroom with a Separate Desk Area and LEGO Theme
When designing this 17 m2 attic room for a 10-year-old boy, we focused on creating a space that supports his passions, improves concentration, and grows together with him. The beautiful natural light coming through the roof windows created the perfect base for a functional and modern interior that combines learning, play, and rest. We placed special emphasis on separating the study area from the sleeping zone, because a 10-year-old needs a clear division of space that helps organize the day and encourages better evening relaxation. An important element of this room is also the boy’s passion – LEGO bricks, which became the main decorative theme.
Modern desk area – ergonomics for a young student and gamer
Under the sloped ceiling, we designed a large corner desk made of warm wood. This gives the boy plenty of space both for studying and for using the computer. We provided:
- an ergonomic gaming chair,
- two wide wall-mounted shelves for books and models,
- space for a computer, a desk lamp, and school supplies,
- additional cabinets and storage compartments.

This desk setup grows together with the child and can later be easily transformed into a full computer workstation or a space for developing hobbies.

Separated bed zone – a light openwork partition provides privacy
One of the most important elements of the design is the metal, openwork partition that subtly separates the bed area from the desk zone.
Thanks to this solution:
- the bed is not directly facing the computer,
- the space has a natural functional division,
- the room feels larger and more organized.

The partition does not block light – it allows visibility across the whole room while still giving a sense of privacy.
Bed with storage and a calm color base
The bed is upholstered, comfortable, and equipped with extra storage space. The muted grey base, yellow cushions, and simple finishes allow the colorful elements of the room – the rug and the LEGO mural – to stand out beautifully.
LEGO mural – a colorful accent inspired by personal interests
The boy loves LEGO, so a large, colorful graphic of LEGO bricks was placed on the wall above the bed. It is modern, energetic, and perfectly suited to the character of a 10-year-old’s room.
The colorful rug completes the whole composition and creates a friendly, childlike atmosphere without being overwhelming.

Modern built-in furniture and space for collections
The room also includes:
- a large custom-built wardrobe,
- a glass display cabinet with LED lighting for LEGO sets and models,
- a low TV cabinet and a TV screen.

This is a great way for the boy to display his favorite sets while keeping everything tidy.

Relaxation zone – a pouf for reading and resting
A soft navy pouf is perfect for:
- reading,
- playing console games,
- relaxing,
- building LEGO sets.
It is a light and comfortable piece of furniture that can be easily moved around.

Summary
This 17 m2 room for a 10-year-old boy combines functionality with modern style, while the colorful LEGO accents give it a unique, personal character. The clear division into study, sleep, and relaxation zones keeps the space organized and supports the child’s everyday activities.
