A spacious bedroom offers the opportunity to create more than just a place to sleep. In this 34 m² bedroom design, we combined an upholstered bed, built-in furniture, a dressing table and a seating area with a TV. The bedroom also has a separate dressing room that provides additional storage. We used warm beige tones throughout, complemented by wood-effect finishes, soft fabrics and subtle accent lighting.

**How do you furnish a 34 m² bedroom with a dressing room?** Start by planning the sleeping area, access to the dressing room and the remaining functions before choosing furniture. In this design, we used the generous floor space to create a separate seating area and a comfortable dressing table, keeping a consistent colour palette throughout.

## Key Features of the 34 m² Bedroom Design

- A separate dressing room providing additional bedroom storage.

- Tall built-in furniture with simple, light-coloured fronts.

- An upholstered bed with a vertically panelled headboard.

- A bench positioned at the foot of the bed.

- A dressing table with a large, round illuminated mirror.

- A TV mounted on a feature wall and a low TV unit.

- Two armchairs and a table creating an additional seating area.

- A coordinated combination of beige, off-white, brown and wood-effect finishes.

The images shown are visualisations of a design by Fabryka Projektów. They illustrate the planned bedroom interior rather than a completed installation.

## A Spacious Bedroom – How to Organise the Space Without Adding Walls

In a larger room, proportions and the relationship between pieces of furniture are particularly important. Simply placing a bed and a wardrobe is not enough if the rest of the room lacks a clear layout. In this bedroom, furniture, lighting and wall finishes define the different functional areas.

The bed, rug and bench form a distinct sleeping area. The dressing table sits beside the tall built-in furniture. In the other part of the room, we placed armchairs with a table and a TV feature wall. This allows the interior to serve several purposes without dividing it with partitions.

When adapting a similar arrangement to your own bedroom, check not only the dimensions of the furniture but also the space needed to open cabinet doors, pull out a chair and move around the bed. A generous floor area does not replace a carefully planned layout.

## An Upholstered Bed and a Feature Wall Behind the Headboard

The main feature of this part of the bedroom is a light-coloured upholstered bed. The vertically panelled headboard introduces a rhythm repeated in other interior details. Behind it, we designed large, light-toned surfaces with a subtle texture, framed on either side by wood-effect finishes.

Vertical lines of light emphasise the wall divisions. Low-hanging pendant lights with spherical shades complete the composition on both sides of the bed, while light-coloured bedside cabinets provide space for items used before going to sleep.

We placed an upholstered bench at the foot of the bed. Its simple shape complements the headboard without competing with the feature wall. The rug visually defines the bed area, while darker cushions and a patterned throw add contrast to the light colour scheme.

## Built-In Bedroom Furniture and a Separate Dressing Room – How to Combine Their Functions

**A separate dressing room does not rule out built-in furniture in the bedroom.** The two can complement each other if you first decide what will be stored in each place. The dressing room can accommodate most clothing, while furniture near the bed and dressing table can hold everyday essentials.

In this design, the tall built-in furniture features light-coloured fronts and simple divisions. An open, illuminated niche with books adds variety to the lower section. This combination breaks up the solid cabinet surfaces with a detail that serves both a practical and decorative purpose.

Before ordering similar built-in furniture, make a list of what it will contain. Bed linen, clothing, cosmetics and books all require different storage arrangements. Shelves, drawers and other fittings should then be selected to suit that list.

We explored another way to combine sleeping and storage in our [14 m² bedroom design with a separate dressing area](https://f-projektow.pl/en/projekt-sypialni-14m2-z-wydzielona-garderoba-funkcjonalny-uklad-i-stonowana-kolorystyka.htm). It offers inspiration for anyone looking to achieve similar functionality in a smaller space.

## A Dressing Table with a Round Mirror Integrated into the Built-In Furniture

We positioned the dressing table beside the tall units. Its light-coloured top and drawer coordinate with the surrounding furniture, while the vertical texture beneath the top adds a decorative touch. The upholstered chair echoes the colours of the bed and armchairs.

A large, round illuminated mirror softens the predominance of straight lines. It gives the dressing table its own character while keeping it connected to the overall design. This is particularly important in a bedroom where several functional areas are visible from the same viewpoint.

When planning a dressing table, allow sufficient legroom, space to pull out the chair and access to power sockets. It is also worth checking whether the mirror lighting illuminates the face or is mainly decorative. An illuminated border alone does not guarantee suitable lighting for applying make-up.

## Beige Tones, Wood-Effect Finishes and Textiles – What Makes the Interior Feel Cosy?

This design does not rely on a wide range of colours. Off-white and beige form the base, complemented by warm wood tones and brown accents. Rather than bold colours, the character comes from contrasting surfaces: smooth cabinet fronts, soft upholstery, a patterned throw and subtle wall texture.

The herringbone wood-effect flooring introduces a more defined pattern. A light-coloured rug beneath the bed balances this effect. Sheer curtains diffuse daylight, while heavier curtains create a soft frame around the windows.

When selecting materials for a similar interior, place samples next to one another and view them in both daylight and under the intended lighting. Two products described as beige can have very different undertones. A cohesive result depends on how the materials actually look together, not simply on their colour names.

## A Bedroom TV as Part of the Wall Design

We mounted the TV against a vertically fluted surface. Backlighting around the screen highlights this part of the interior, while a low TV unit anchors the composition near floor level. Its light colour and softly rounded shape coordinate with the other furniture.

The black screen and soundbar create some of the strongest contrasts in the room. Their calm surroundings mean there is no need for additional dark accents across the wall.

Before installing a similar arrangement, decide on the TV size, mounting method and cable routes. Check the mounting height from the position in which the screen will most often be viewed. Window reflections and access to sockets and devices also need to be considered.

## A Seating Area with Two Armchairs and a Table

One of this bedroom's distinguishing features is a separate seating area. We included two different armchairs: one with a more classic, geometric shape and the other with a rounded form. Their light-coloured upholstery ties them together, keeping the arrangement cohesive despite their different silhouettes.

A small round table with a vertically detailed base sits between the chairs. This detail echoes the fluted TV wall and the finish around the dressing table. Repeating selected design elements helps connect different parts of a large room.

This area provides an additional place to talk, read or relax away from the bed. Its size should reflect actual needs: in a smaller interior, a single armchair and a table can serve a similar purpose.

When planning a similar corner, allow enough space to move freely between the furniture and reach the doors. An armchair should not obstruct the main route to the dressing room or make the curtains difficult to use.

Sloping ceilings require a different furniture arrangement from rooms with a consistent ceiling height.

## Lighting a Bedroom with Several Functions

In a bedroom with a dressing table, TV and seating area, a single light source cannot meet every need. The design includes ceiling fixtures, bedside pendant lights and illumination around the mirror, furniture niche and selected wall sections.

Each group serves a different purpose. General lighting supports activities throughout the room, bedside lights illuminate the immediate area around the bed, and accent lighting highlights materials and divisions. When implementing the design, consider separate controls for the different lighting groups so that they do not all need to be switched on at once.

The position of the lights should be coordinated with the bed width, bedside cabinet height and built-in furniture dimensions. This allows electrical points to be prepared before the walls are finished, helping to avoid later alterations.

## How to Plan a Budget for Furnishing a Bedroom Like This

**The cost of furnishing a 34 m² bedroom depends on the scope of work and the quality of materials and furnishings, not just the floor area.** An interior with built-in furniture, a separate dressing room, a dressing table and extensive lighting requires several categories of expenditure to be priced separately. We do not provide an implementation cost for this design because visualisations cannot replace quotations from manufacturers and contractors.

## What Should the Cost Estimate Include?

- **Design:** the chosen scope of services and any documentation needed by contractors.

- **Room preparation:** removal work, surface levelling and other tasks required by the condition of the interior.

- **Finishing materials:** flooring, skirting boards, paints, wall coverings and installation materials.

- **Built-in furniture:** cabinet carcasses, fronts, internal fittings, the dressing table and furniture installation.

- **Dressing room:** a separate quotation for its fittings, based on the agreed scope of work.

- **Freestanding furniture:** the bed, mattress, bench, armchairs, chair and table.

- **Electrical work and lighting:** power points, fixtures, profiles, power supplies and controls.

- **Textiles:** sheer curtains, curtains, their hanging system, a rug and other accessories.

- **TV and audio equipment:** the television, mounting bracket, additional devices and cable preparation.

- **Labour and logistics:** contractor fees, delivery, carrying items into the room and assembly.

## How Should You Allocate the Budget and Plan a Contingency?

Start by pricing the elements that determine the layout and sequence of work: installations, surface finishes and built-in furniture. You can then choose freestanding furniture, lighting fixtures and textiles to suit the remaining budget. When comparing quotations, check that they cover the same scope, including installation and transport.

Set aside a contingency for unexpected expenses before making purchases. Its size should reflect the condition of the room and the amount of work that has not yet been priced. Take particular care when renovating an existing interior, as some details can only be confirmed after removal work has been completed.

If the bedroom is part of an apartment being furnished, its budget needs to be considered alongside the cost of the kitchen, bathroom and other rooms. In this case, a [complete apartment design](https://f-projektow.pl/pl/27-58-projekt-mieszkania-projektowanie-mieszkania.html) helps coordinate materials, furnishings and priorities across the entire interior.

## What Should You Check Before Commissioning a Similar Design?

- Measure the room, windows, doors and ceiling height.

- Confirm whether the stated floor area also includes the dressing room.

- Decide on the bed size and check its overall dimensions, including the frame.

- Plan access to the dressing room and allow space for cabinet doors and drawers to open.

- List the items to be stored in the dressing room and the bedroom's built-in furniture.

- Check that there is enough room to pull out the dressing table chair.

- Decide where the TV will go and how its cables will be concealed.

- Consider whether you need two armchairs or whether one seat will be sufficient.

- Select lighting to suit each function.

- Prepare a budget covering materials, furnishings, labour and a contingency.

## Frequently Asked Questions About a 34 m² Bedroom with a Dressing Room

## Do You Need Built-In Bedroom Furniture if You Have a Separate Dressing Room?

Not always. It is worth including when it has a specific purpose, such as storing bed linen, books or items used at the dressing table. The amount of built-in furniture should reflect your needs and the capacity of the dressing room.

## How Can You Make a Large Bedroom Feel Cosy?

Dividing it into smaller functional areas, using a consistent colour scheme and combining different textures can help. In this design, we used upholstered furniture, a rug, sheer curtains, heavier curtains and warm wood tones. Lighting highlights the individual parts of the room.

## Should the Dressing Table Match the Other Furniture?

It does not have to come from the same collection, but it should connect with the interior through colour, material or detail. Here, the light-coloured dressing table coordinates with the built-in furniture, while the round mirror and upholstered chair soften its simple form.

## Where Should You Put a TV in a Large Bedroom?

Choose a position suited to the intended viewing location, taking into account distance, screen height and light reflections. It is best to decide on the TV position before installing sockets and finishing the wall.

## Can You Estimate the Cost of Furnishing a Bedroom from a Visualisation?

A visualisation helps identify the planned elements, but it is not enough for an accurate quotation. You also need dimensions, material specifications, selected furniture and equipment models, and a defined scope of work and installation.

## What Determines the Price of a Bedroom Design?

The price depends on the chosen scope of services. Before placing an order, check which deliverables the package includes and clarify any work relating to the separate dressing room. Current options are listed in our bedroom design offer.
