The living area today is much more than just a combination of a living room and a kitchen. It is the heart of the home – a space for gatherings, relaxation, cooking and everyday rituals. In this presented interior project with an area of 29,52m2, we focused on modern elegance in a warm interpretation, combining beige, black and natural wood into a cohesive, refined composition.

This interior design arrangement proves that even with just under 30 m2, it is possible to create a balanced, functional and visually organized space – without excess, yet with a distinctive character.

## Space analysis – 29,52m2 of an open-plan living area

The designed space includes a living room with kitchen with an area of 29,52m2. The open layout required a thoughtful composition – so that each function had its own place while maintaining visual consistency throughout.

## Design assumptions

- clear separation of zones without physical divisions

- maximum kitchen functionality while maintaining visual lightness

- a representative TV wall with a distinctive material finish

- a warm, elegant atmosphere without excessive decoration

Our goal was to create an interior project that is timeless – based on a neutral foundation that can easily be modified with accessories over the years.

## Interior concept – concrete, wooden slats and modern form

The central feature of the arrangement is the TV wall finished in architectural concrete. This raw material contrasts with vertical wooden slats in a warm tone, highlighted with linear LED lighting.

Concrete in this composition acts as an elegant, minimalist and balanced background. It does not overwhelm the space but emphasizes its modern character.

Below the television, we designed a low black cabinet with a light form that organizes the space and adds rhythm. Black also appears in lighting fixtures and structural details of the table and kitchen peninsula.

In the dining area, a wooden tabletop on a black “X” base dominates, giving the interior a dynamic character. Above it hangs a designer lamp with smoked glass globes – an element that builds atmosphere and adds a subtle premium effect.

## Functional zones – a clear division of space

In this living room with kitchen project, logical planning of functions was crucial.

## Relaxation zone

Located in the living area, with the sofa positioned facing the TV wall. Soft fabrics in shades of beige balance the stronger character of concrete and black accents.

## Dining zone

Positioned between the living room and the kitchen – a natural connector of both areas. A large mirror visually enlarges the space and reflects daylight.

## Kitchen zone

L-shaped cabinetry with a peninsula. Matte black fronts were combined with a wooden countertop and a slatted detail on the island.

## Circulation zone

Kept максимально open – the absence of unnecessary elements allows smooth movement between functions.

## Material details – durability and aesthetics

Throughout the living area, we used wood-look tiles. This solution combines the aesthetic of natural wood with high resistance to moisture and damage – especially important in the kitchen area.

The TV wall finished in concrete introduces an industrial accent, while wooden slats with a natural grain pattern warm up the composition. Matte black kitchen fronts add modern elegance without reflecting excessive light.

Suspended elements above the island with greenery introduce lightness and a subtle natural detail.

## Interior color palette – harmony of beige, black and wood

The color palette was built on three main pillars:

- **Beige** – the base for walls, upholstery and curtains

- **Black** – cabinetry, structural details and lighting

- **Natural wood** – countertop, slats and dining elements

This combination creates an elegant yet cozy atmosphere. The concrete TV wall introduces a touch of rawness that balances the softness of fabrics and the warmth of wood.

## Design team comments

*When designing this space, we focused on balancing aesthetics and functionality. With an area of 29,52m2, it is easy to create visual chaos – which is why we limited the number of materials and consistently repeated key motifs.*

*We chose concrete for the TV wall to give the interior character, but paired it with warm wood to avoid a cold effect. In our work, interior design always results from the user’s needs – not from temporary trends.*

## FAQ – frequently asked questions

## Is 29,52m2 enough for a comfortable living room with kitchen?

Yes, provided the zones are properly divided and the number of materials is limited.

## Is concrete on the TV wall practical?

Yes – it is a durable and easy-to-maintain solution, especially in the form of panels or decorative plaster.

## Why were wood-look tiles used instead of panels?

They are more resistant to moisture and damage, which is important in an open kitchen layout.

No, if it is balanced with light walls and a wooden countertop.

## How to visually enlarge a living room with kitchen?

A mirror, light color palette and uniform flooring without thresholds.

## Does a peninsula make sense in this size?

## What lighting works best in such a space?

Layered lighting: ceiling fixtures, decorative lighting above the table and under-cabinet lighting in the kitchen.

## Is this interior project timeless?

Yes, thanks to a neutral color base and simple forms.

## Is concrete and wood a good combination?

It is one of the most harmonious pairings – rawness and warmth in balance.
